Traditional Woven Cloth
There are many ancient techniques passed down through cultures globally to support the pregnant and post-natal body using a traditional shawl or other practical cloth. Rebozo based practices and Closing Bones ceremonies of South America have become particularly well known recently and are how I became introduced to this simple and versatile tool. I acquired my first authentic Rebozo along with a brief introduction to labour use while training as a Doula. Pregnancy

Bump Binding and pain relief
Using traditional cloth techniques to wrap the pregnant body so as to support and stabilise the pelvis, lift and distribute the weight of baby, and aid posture. This is especially helpful for those experiencing pelvic girdle or symphis pain.
Positioning
Gentle movements to lift baby, release of tension and open the pelvis creating space for baby to move into their optimum position for birth
Birth
A tool for labour to support your positioning and movement, open the pelvis providing space for baby to turn as they need to, encourage or ease decent, and aid in directing your force downward.
Postnatal
Belly binding for birth recovery
This can provide support to the internal structures of the abdomen as they reposition after the birth of your baby whilst allowing the muscles to heal and strengthen gently. I can help you learn when and how to wrap your belly for the best recovery for you.
Closing bones
This traditional post birth ceremony is designed to be a spiritually grounding experience. You are honoured and held and called back into your body after the expansive physical and spiritual opening of holding the veil for birth. Each ceremony is tailored but can include gentle body massage, womb massage, aromatherapy & anointing, and sacred song, as well as the close wrapping in shawls for deep relaxation.
